On Service Canada site click on payments and if you are approved you would see payment there. Mine status when changed from in progress to complete there was some information that said a decision would be sent in 10-15 days but there was a link for payment and once I clicked on that I would see my back payment. My gut feeling is if you still see in progress there will be no payment information. Do you see any payment information?
My LTDI provider asked me to apply and I signed the forms for them to communicate with SC then applied (paper) for CPP-D and included the signed consent form, made LTDI aware that I have applied and asked them to send the medical reports asap that they already have because the CPP-D form said I can just have them send the reports over, we later found out that they waited 3 weeks before sending the medical reports over and of course the application is not considered complete until SC has everything so checking online about my application it simply said you may have applied but we have no record wait 6 to 12 weeks. My neurologist was kind enough to fill out the ISP-2519 medical form and I uploaded that and couple of days later my status changed to āIn Progressā with date of application being the date i sent over the CPP-D application. Wish I had known that as I couldāve gotten her to fill out the form earlier and not rely on LTDI to send over the forms. We thought if LTDI has all the reports and SC will accept those reports in lieu of ISP-2519 then why go through the hassle of getting the medical form filled out as it would be a mere duplication but i guess not. Lesson learnt is send over the application and try to the medical reports over soon after that, donāt rely on LTDI to send the reports in a timely manner as then you are in their queue.
In my opinion better to give everything to Service Canada. I checked off on the CPPD application that they can obtain any medical documents from the insurer and the insurer also told me they sent over the documents to Service Canada the same day. I also wrote that my psychiatrist would be filling out the CPPD medical form. I think the CPPD medical getting filled out goes along way as they ask a few key questions such as: prognosis, can the person ever return back to work etc. I know my psychiatrist did an amazing job on it and that lead to my initial application approval for my mental health (invisible illness) issues. The waiting period is the most difficult. 101 days for me felt like an eternity but you will get a phone call from the medical adjudicator/Service Canada.
Thanks for the information, I checked and it just says when once a payment is made the information will be there.
Yes that is what mine said once it was in progress, once you see complete or approved you will see the year, 2022 and then you will be able to click on the year and it will break down your payments. My hunch is no decision has been made on your file to approve or deny yet. The waiting part is awful, been there but hopefully you get approved soon.
Thanks Harvey, I was told by Service Canada that a decision was made March 21st but they canāt or wonāt tell you what it is until you get āthe letterā so Iām trying to be patient but itās pretty stressful.
Hopefully it is a positive response you get in the mail. The fact there is no payment information might be a cause of concern on your online Service Canada website. I was able to see my payment information before I received any correspondence in the mail. My case was a bit different as I was told right away I was approved for CPPD when I got the caIl, I guess there is no set protocol. My best advice for you would be to call Service Canada again and hope you get a better Service Canada agent who can tell you if you have been approved or denied. The wait times are usually 1 hour when calling Service Canada.
So I called Service Canada again and after being told by 2 other agents that a decision was made March 21st and Iād hear soon, I was told that oh no a decision wasnāt made it just ment that they had a the information they needed and will now review it. My rheumatologist however received a call back in February from my adjudicator stating they had finally received my file and had everything they needed. Iām so confused, was I told incorrectly by the other 2 agents?
Sometimes whether you call Service Canada or CRA depending on the agent you can get, you can get very accurate information or unfortunately some misinformation. Based on what is happening in your account, my guess is a decision has not been made yet, the good news is they now have everything they need to make a final decision so hopefully you hear back from them soon and it will be a positive response.
Just very weird I was told by 2 agents that a decision was made March 21st. Also service Canada, told my rheumatologist in Feb they had everything so not sure what this March 21st date represents Oh well we continue to wait.
Going on 7 months here, still waiting. The stress it causes is awful.
Have you trying calling and asking for a supervisor to look into the matter? I was starting to get stressful at 3 months so I can only imagine the stress this is causing you.
I have called, but just say it can take awhile, we are now at 7 months. I was told by 2 people that a decision was made March 21st and theyād send a letter, the last person I spoke with said no they havenāt made a decision yet but the March 21st date just means they have all the information, however they called my rheumatologist in January to say they had received everything so Iāve no idea whatās going on. I will try calling again tomorrow I guess, itās so beyond stressful and is definitely not doing me any good. Iāve kind of given up, maybe my file is lost.
I googled the current wait time and it says 4 months.
I suspect that is very optimistic and it is more like 8 months but I am just guessing.
I know how stressful this is and I sympathize but donāt give up.
I would phone every week,
Thanks Jammer, I called today and again I was told a decision has been made and I should receive a phone call in the next 15 days or so, I was told this in March also. He said he didnāt know what the decision was. If they are gonna deny me I wish theyād get on with it. I donāt understand if they have made a decision why wait so long to call or send a letter. Do they call if they deny or just send a letter I wonder. I sent in my application in September.
,Thanks Harvey, did you receive a phone call prior to the letter?
My situation was like clockwork. I sent in my application in Dec 2021, a week later my psychiatrist sent in the CPPD medical form and I received a call from Service Canada letting me know my application was complete. I asked the agent what the wait time period is these days, he said 90 days. 101 days later in March 2022 I received a phone call from the CPPD medical adjudicator who said I was approved and let me know how much my monthly benefit would be. A week later I received the approval paperwork in the mail.
Wow thatās great, my application went in Sept 28th 2021 followed a week later with my GP report and a few weeks later by my rheumatologist file. I had a phone interview with the adjudicator on Dec 2nd 2021 and here we are April 26th and still waiting. Iām ready to just call them and say forget it itās not worth the stress which is why I waited over a year to apply.
Hi Crissy,
Any update from CPPD?
Nope sadly, I called again last week and was told again that a decision has been made and apparently just waiting for the person to call me, itās not the medical adjudicator that does this call but someo other department. Itās almost 8 months now. They have been telling me since March that I should hear something within 15 days. I quite honestly am done with this, itās caused me so much stress and anxiety and they will probably still deny me, so to go through this again to appeal, I donāt think I have it in me. Iām selling my things to pay for my drugs now. I havenāt worked in 18 months.
