The longer the way the better it is for the insurance companies if you’re getting disability insurance and for the government, if you have a pension because they’re waiting the wings for the clawback and offset to reduce how much you’re getting from them. Then the Tax nightmare. The delays for me were 40 months in total for me. Then there’s no policy or legislation to which one can refer and make a case for government obstruction and or disability insurance dragging this out over policy disputes.

This process is not human eccentric designed with the disabled employee in mind at all. All you can do is document every single thing every call you make every form you file and then try to negotiate with the Disability insurer yourself. But without policy expertise that’s tough going. Doubt your union will touch this either as it’s not something obligated to represent under the collective agreement.
