Time flies… my approved DTC was for 2020-2025. After doing some searching I found that they are supposed to send me a letter reminder to renew it. Does this actually happen? When should I apply for 2025-2030 period?
As soon as you can.
Maybe go into a service Canada office.

Thanks, typical government doesn’t do what it’s supposed to and send a letter 6 months before expiration. I just checked and I can apply even a year before so thank you!

I didn’t get a letter about my accessible parking permit expiring.
Don’t know if I should have received a letter but I let it expire by mistake.
I emailed the health minister’s office I lost the link tho I filled out information about my illness and someone called me and told me my DTC is now permanent.

Just re the timelines, it took about two months from when my doctor completed the form till I got my confirmation of DTC renewal. Interestingly the first DTC I got was good for 10 years but the renewal is good indefinitely and I am not to submit any renewal forms unless they ask for one. It might just be that I am getting old but it was a surprise to me.

Can you give me more info on this please. I went to the Federal Ministry of Health website but I don’t see anywhere to fill out any info, just the email to the Minister and the Deputy Minister. Nothing on that website referring to the DTC.
Did you mean you contacted the Minister of CRA? Can you provide some more info pls on what you and who and how you achieved this? TIA

I came across a link in one of my groups it was to the ministry of health and it t was to reevaluate my DTC. There was an area to give my details told t am depressed and can’t sleep with memory problems I also discussed a previous suicide attempt and that it was back again. They put my DTC on perminte but they also sent an Ambulance and police to my house. We probably can’t find that link again I would try getting his email maybe thru service Canada and tell him y u think u should be put on perminte make things sound a little worse than they are. But don’t say your suicidal or u will probably get a visit from the RCMP. That’s what worked for me. Good luck.

Finally got approved but what a nightmare because I was denied and had to appeal and then got it. Simple negligence by my doctor almost like they have an agenda because the government told them to. Only got it approved for 5 years which is bizarre as nothing has changed and i’m permanently disabled. Better than nothing and still keep getting CDB at least.
