What if CPPD Makes a mistake?

I received my call from the last person that tells you the payment stuff.

He explained that I have been approved back to March 2022 and they are sending back pay.

I only applied in November of 2023. Shouldn’t they only back pay me to November 2022?

My concern is that I send my retro payment to my LTD and then CPP comes back and says they were wrong and I owe them a bunch of money back.

I’m not sure if this is a valid concern, or if I’m doing that thing I do where I just make up stuff to worry about.

Valid concern. I would call Service Canada and ask why the retro pay goes so far back.

Ya, phone Service Canada.
Or wait until you get the letter from Service Canada explaining the dates.
It could be the agent made a mistake but it could also be that someone typed it in wrong.
I’d wait until you get the letter rather than going by what someone said but that is me. :slight_smile:
