What happens when your employer terminated you as a medical termination?

I have been on LTD for 2 3/4 years. I do not know what happens when they do that to you. How should/could that affect my LTD ? I am getting very little to no help from my HR and I am not wanting to ask my insurer as they have been not pleasant to interact with. (Read that as horrid)

Can anybody help with what may happen to me? I have 2 children and a husband who works hard but is not in a high paying job. I am scared.

Thank you

Your LTD will continue.
The contract for existing claims is between you and the insurance company.
You will lose group medical/health coverage through your employer.

As others have noted, once you have an open LTD claim or appeal your work status after that point is not relevant. Losing your job won’t affect your LTD claim or benefits.
