Anyone have any experience in this situation?
Due to a deep misunderstanding of the rules and policies, entirely due to the cognitive impairments related to my multiple disabilities, I ended up as a late applicant with an MQP several years ago. This led to 2 denials from medical adjudication at the initial application and reconsideration stages.
Long story short, I applied at the General Division and won my appeal there with notification happening on December 16th, with payments beginning August 2022. On Dec 23, I was speaking to Service Canada about another matter and asked if they had any idea how long it would take to process. I was told “it was sent back to the SST on December 19th”.
When I asked what that meant, the SC rep got weird and flaily, saying a lot of words but not giving any information.
After Christmas I spoke to my SST navigator, wondering if SC was telling me they were appealing the decision to the Appeal Division. She coild see nothing in the system showing that it had come back to the SST at all.
On January 6th, I received an email from the SST about a amended decision, prompted by SC, correcting the date that payments should start, now reading May 2022.
They now have 90 days from the date of the amended decision to appeal to the Appeals Division.
Anyone have this happen? Like…would they appeal to the AD after having the date amended in my favour???
