Onset date of disabiltiy confusion

Im not sure what date of disability onset to put on my CPPD application.

I struggled for years at work then in March 2020, I started part time and qualified for proportionate disability benefits from Canada Life. I continued to decline and work less to where I felt I could no longer continue and stopped working completely in October 2023. I feel like I should put the last day I worked in October. as my part time work paid about $22,000 per year.

Thanks for any input.

I would put the first day you got Canada Life benefits.

If you have a medical diagnosis that indicates a disabling condition which is prior to your Canada Life disability benefits, I think it would be the date of your disability onset.

Sounds like it would be October 2023 based on what you are saying. Use the same date of disability as the LTD. Would be the first day you were scheduled to work and could not show up.
