Hi David.Ive been receiving disability benefits now for over 2 years. Will my benefits be affected if I move to another province ?Thank you
My LTD benefits booklet says I need written permission to be out of the country for more than 4 months. I don’t know about CPP-D, ask service-canada.
I would suggest checking your LTD benefits booklet and if not there, ask your insurer.
The short answer is No. Moving to a new province in and of itself is not a valid reason to deny a disability claim. I encourage people to move or go on vacations as any other person would. However, where I see people run into problems are when the medical treatment status quo is disrupted after the move…not being able to find a new doctor…not being able to continue seeing a specialist…not having the same access to psychology…etc. These are the reasons moving can result in a claim being denied.
