IME or TSA first?

What usually comes first? An independent medical exam or a transferrable skills analysis test?

Mine went IME then transferable skills. They both were completed without my knowledge.

The alternative employment analysis is a standard step in every long term claim while most people never have an IME.

Edit Buckets are you just talking about the standard medical review? I am not sure how an IME can be completed without your knowledge since it would be missing the E-Examination part of the IME.

I’m not sure how you had an independent medical examination without your knowledge though. Can you please explain? Or did you just meet a medical file review

@Caro It makes me feel a bit better reading that it is standard. Since they contacted me to do a psycho- vocational assessment, my anxiety has been through the roof.

I am curious about your situation too @Buckets365

I had an IME but not a transferrable skills analysis test.

When I recieved my claim file there was a 15 page document in it called “IME for XYZ”. I was surprised to see it. The report was created by a doctor in Ontario by reviewing all testing, imaging, prescriptions, treatment plan, etc that my doctor sent to my insurer. It also made reference to phone calls where I answered medical questions about my condition. I had no idea there was a hired doctor listening in on those calls. In the claim file the insurer even thanked the hired doctor for such a thorough IME report.

Would an IME without claimant participation/consent hold up in court, absolutely not.

To anonymous1 point, the insurer in my case incorrectly equated a extremely thorough paper medical review (along with phone calls) as an IME. It came out in my favor so I didn’t bother complaining when I found out there was a doctor listening in on my calls.
