Can an insurance company make you see their own specialist
Yep they sure can. If you don’t they make life very difficult. Of course they make life difficult anyway no matter what.
For an assessment they can. Review other posts on IME’s and rehab. Lots of good info there.
Whst is IME and where do I find that info at.
IME stands for “Independent Medical Examination”. It is a term used in the insurance and legal industry to refer to medical consultations done for the purpose of giving medical opinion related to an insurance claim or legal case – as opposed to a medical consultation done for the purpose of giving treatment advice.
In a legal case or insurance claim, both sides have the right to hire experts to give opinions to support their position on claim or case. Insurance companies have the right to choose for you to be examined by a doctor or other health professional for purposes of getting opinions related to your qualification for disability benefits. They have the right to choose whomever they want, with some limitations. You should cooperate with these assessments even if you believe they may not go in your favour.

What do they do at one of these assessments. I am to go see their psychitrist
It depends on the type of assessment you are being sent for. It will normally involve an interview and can involve other physical or cognitive testing depending on the purpose of the assessment and expertise of the person doing the assessment.
