I can’t believe my specialist

I just thought of something. Maybe she doesn’t feel comfortable because she doesn’t know what to say as she only deals with my rheumatoid and not the anxiety and depression part like my family dr. . So having me there looking at the form will be much easier?

  1. You are correct. Insurance companies pay a very small amount to our doctors to fill out forms.

  2. Doctors from some European countries are exempted. They can only work in hospitals. They are not allowed to have a private practise…yet.

Hi Chantal

Not sure if this would help you but what I did was steer my caseworker to my Family Doctor stating that my Doc receives reports from a number of my specialist and should be included. So what happened was that they only asked for information from my Family Doc who I stated was my “case manager” - oversees my total care. Also can you get your specialists reports and any other and send them on to the insurance company. Just a thought. This is very difficult from both sides. I would send as much information as possible from any sources you have. Take Care and Good Luck - not easy!

I usually take the form the Doctor needs to fill out and attach a copy of the last form he filled out… I fill in all the info, copies of test ect, dates whatever I can. I give the Doctor the form, and show him that I have put in name date ect. He thanked me and told me he wished all patients did this because it saves him a lot of time, looking up dates of appointments, tests, referrals ect. He filled his part out then and there. Hope this helps.

My LTD provider sends the forms directly to my doctors. My case manager sends me a lettter informing me forms have been sent and I have to see my doctors within five days.

That’s insane, I can’t make an appointment for less than a week in advance.
2 weeks or more is more likely.
