Gwl and moving to ns

Hi all I haven’t posted for a while had my other knee replaced and then I had a massive heart attack luckily my wife resuscitate me but I was in hospital for months My insurance company haven’t contacted me for months one question can you move from one province to another and still get gwl payments

First, I am sorry to hear for your ordeal, but may happy you have such a quick thinking wife!

The answer is yes, you can move anywhere in Canada and still get your LTD payments. The Key thing is to make sure you haven continuity of treatment that is the one thing that can cause problems. The only other problem is if you are under 2 years on LTD, the insurers don’t like it when you can’t go back to your old employer at the two year point.
