So CPP-D called me last week to notify me they now have my complete application package many many many months after I submitted my application. I guess the hold up was my insurer dragging their feet in submitting their info. It’s kind of funny since the only reason I am applying is because my insurer kept emailing me to do so (I didn’t even want to apply).

Anyways, the nice lady at CPP-D said I would get my decision as early as two months and most definitely within three months. Let’s see how accurate that is.

That is bittersweet news.

I really hope SC determines your eligibility to preclude your insurance company from claw back.

Yeah, I told them “no rush, take all the time you want, as I won’t see a penny of it if approved and it’ll end up costing me in taxes”.

My master policy allows my insurer to offset any CPP-D I recieve.

That’d be great if true.
I hope it is much faster than it used to be.

I think clawback either is or isn’t depending on the policy (I think most clawback).

Just wanted to give everyone an update. Here is the timeline for my CPP-D application:

Applied for CPP in Feb 2024
Phone call they had all my info in Aug 2024
Phone call I was approved in Feb 2025

I’m a bit surprised that CPP-D approved my application. I barely put any effort into it (like 30-45 minutes), but they approved my application based on what my doctor and insurer submitted.
