Hello,

I applied and was declined. Shocking, I know.

I’m doing the request for reconsideration. I sent in an online request, which probably wasn’t the best but I have processing issues and no friends/family near by for support. I did mention that in my request in case they thought I wasn’t making sense.

When I did the request I recorded the date on the denial letter Oct 25, but asked if they could consider the day I actually received it. I got it Nov 14th because of the mail strike for the 90 days to get everything in. Am I understanding that correctly?

Now I am at the stage of requesting my file. All of the docs just mention get the file. I downloaded the form and read it. But it looks like I can do it online also.

It says “Please describe your request, including specific details such as date or date ranges, and details that may help the institution to find your information more quickly.” Can I not just request “Cpp-D application file”. Or do I have to break it down into application file, medical files, manulife files, doctor notes (but aren’t those in the Cpp-d file?). What dates? I sent in my file Sept 2025.

I had previously applied back in 2013 under a misdiagnosis and was declined and just left it at that. Should I request that one? I have had this issue my entire life and now know what the reasons are. Would having that document help as well?

Then the document asks **“I would like to access the requested information: Electronic copies,Paper copies or In person at a gov’t office.” **
Does everyone just get them mailed? Wouldn’t online be quicker? Or are the files super large?

I’m reading your stuff under the learning tab and watching videos, but it’s so overwhelming and I get exhausted.

So I just did the request. I asked for my CPP-D file, doctor’s note etc. I asked for it to be sent electronically.

I did the reconsideration request online. I couldn’t write a long note because they only allow so many words and said I’d be sending in more documentations. But I’m really confused about what I’m supposed to do because I have processing issues and I don’t know if I’m mixing things up.

Reconsideration: Request for someone else to look at my file.

How long do I have to send information in? Is it 90 days from when I got the letter? It looks like I won’t get the file by then by looking at other posts.
So, what do I do? I can only send in documents online once. If I am correct. Is this where I get my doctor to write another note (even though I should have my file), my family to write letters, and my Counsellor/Social Worker. How long should the letters be? I find it frustrating that my doctor holds more weight than my SW. I see my SW every other week. I get 6 minutes with the doctor and I always have to go back because of a mess up. (They did write incorrect dates on my application, I didn’t catch it because I also have dyslexia/dyscalculia.)

If it’s only 90 days to send in your information for the Reconsideration, and it takes months to get your CPP-D file it seems messed up.
