Quick question for anyone who’s done ATIPs for CPP-D files — is a 30-day extension pretty normal?
Trying to get a sense of how long others had to wait before their package arrived.

I believe you are referring to the process of requesting a copy of your own CPP-D file form Service Canada. A 30 day extension is not unusual because they are often overloaded with requestss.

Yes, exactly — I was referring to the process of requesting my own CPP-D file from Service Canada.
My reconsideration deadline is coming up soon. Would it make sense to submit the reconsideration application now, with a short note saying that I’m awaiting my full CPP-D file disclosure from Service Canada and will provide any additional information once I receive it?
My advice is to just submit the reconsideration without waiting to get the file. This is the process we use now. You will automatically get sent the full file if your reconsideration is denied and you appeal to the tribunal. We found the delay with waiting to get a copy of the CPP file was not worth it. Better to get a decsion more quickly at the reconsideration stage and put your time into winning with the appeal to the SST where you have better chances all around.

Solid advice! Thank you! I’ll log into the Service Canada portal later today and submit my reconsideration application forthwith!
