Like so many on here I am worried about change of definition and like many we are all intimately aware about the different disability standard of qualifying under LTD any occupation and CPP disability with the latter being significantly more challenging to clear.
I’m well aware that CPP disabilities decision is not binding to an insurer but an approval is considered legally devastating.
I’m just trying to get a good handle on whether or not people have been approved for CPP disability but then somehow denied for change of definition through the insurer.
Secondly, does surveillance risk continue with the long-term disability insurer? I know the courts would severely frown on an insurer after a claimant has been approved for CPP disability because it would look like the insurer is fishing but we all know…they can be fishy ..
