I am so sorry to hear that you need to ask this question. I had a quick search and found this, which suggests that you can get both:

Blockquote Canada Pension Plan Disability Benefits (CPPD)
Blockquote Some workers are eligible for Canada Pension Plan Disability (CPPD) benefits for their injury or illness. You may be entitled to both earnings loss benefits under the Act and CPPD benefits, resulting in higher overall monthly payments. For more information on the benefit, visit the CPPD website. Should you become approved for CPPD benefits at any time, please contact your case worker immediately.
I don’t know the answer 100%. This is something I would recommend you contact the WCB Nova Scotia to ask. Things like this must be covered in their policies. It is different for each provincial WCB program. I know some of them have changed how they handle CPP disability in recent years where they now deduct the full CPPD regardless of whether it is related to the same work injury. However, I stress that this is handled differently for each province. I am not sure how Nova Scotia is handling this now.
