Employment income and CPP Disability

I’m still a bit confused with requirement to report employment income under CPP Disability. The CPP website says that you can earn $5500 a year before you have to start reporting to CPP. But their website also says you need to report to them if you start working again. Which is it? If I try working 2 hours a week do I need to report that?
Also, is it $5500 in 12 months from injury or in a calendar year (ie. between January 1 and December 31)?
Cheers

Yes, my advice is to report any attempt. Then you have no stress and are upfront.

I’ve been trying to call them for two days now to get clarification, but the recorded message keeps saying call volume is too high and to call back later.

Report any attempts. I believe they look at calendar year for the earnings amounts, but always just report no matter what.
