DTC Part A Question #3

Good day everyone,

I’m really sorry for the dumb question but the doctor has me confused. I am looking for clarity.

What would happen if you answer ‘no, do not adjust my previous tax returns at this time’?

What happens if you answer ‘yes’?

I would like to receive any credit/$ I am eligible for, what is the correct option to choose for that to take place. Thank you

If you answer yes, they look back and adjust your tax returns to claim the DTC for each tax year and pay you any additional refund owing.

If you say no don’t adjust it, then you can go back and amend the earlier years yourself. I did this because I had some different tax credits that I had claimed, but wanted to un-claim them and use the DTC in their place.
