I have recently, presumably, been denied CPP-D. I’m still waiting for my letter to come wit the decision by SC has said a decision has been made and a letter mailed. My SC portal says it’s complete but there is not payment info so I’m assuming denied. I also assume it is based on future treatment because there are medications I haven’t used yet due to not being able to safely use them at the time. But could potentially in the future. Has anyone had any luck at reconsideration when denied based on future treatment. Any pointers or guidance is appreciated. Thank you so much
Denials based on future treatment or refusal to do treatment are common reasons for denial of CPP disability.
Ultimately, a person have to prove you followed reasonable medical advice. So, if a person is not taking “recommended” medications, you would need show what not taking them was based on medical advice they received. Each case is unique and I can’t advise how you should approach your case without doing a full review.
