I was approved for CPP Disability and my child between 18-25 attends a major Canadian university full-time. We want to complete the application for Child Benefits (ISP-1402), however my child is doing a 4 month full-time exchange in Europe through their university. The exchange courses count towards the completion of my child’s Canadian university degree. Does my child qualify for CPP full-time student benefits even if they’re on exchange?
My understanding is Service Canada will rely on the acredited school’s classification of the student. So if the school classifies them as a full-time student while on an exchange then they will get the full Child Benefit.
