I have been on LTD for physical and mental health conditions. I have since returned to work for a week. I also have surgery booked for next week. Both my doc and I feel it is unrelated to LTD.
My policy states that if total disability occurs again for same or related causes, it will be considered a continuation of the previous total disability if it is within 6 months for LTD.
Would my time off for surgery recovery be a separate STD claim? Or will insurance probably call it a continuation of LTD because it has not been 6 months?
If it is a continuation of LTD then will my employer let me go if goes past 2 years?
