Company sold while on LTD

Hi,

I was working at a company for years and was on LTD when it was sold. Most employees were paid out but since I was on LTD my employment was moved to my parent company instead. LTD payments remained the same but my benefits package is now changed, where I had amazing benefits before as I had opted for the extended benefits and had 100% coverage on things like physiotherapy, medication, mental health support etc. it is now changed with my parent company where I still pay the additional for extended but the benefits are different, I now need to pay a deductible per person on my benefits annually per type of service and the coverage is not fully covered some have been lessened to 70-80% coverage which in my opinion is hindering my potential to be able to heal and return to work quicker instead it has added additional stress and I can no longer afford these services so I am unable to get the needed assistance for recovery. Is there anything I can do about this?

This is not what you want to hear, but I would consider yourself lucky that you were not laid off with the other employees, leaving you with no benefits at all. It will also be difficult to sue the company that was sold for wrongful dismissal. The company you worked for did the right thing and transferred your employment to the new company. I think you’re very lucky.

I was laid off so I have zero health insurance.

Same here, no job to go back to even if I wanted to, and no more extended benefits
