Canada's international social security agreements - Must I apply?

Hi,

There is a reasonable chance I qualify for disability benefits in a country I worked in early in my career…

My insurance polity contains the usual:

if one does not apply for a benefit for which he is eligible, the amount of such benefit will be estimated and assumed to be paid.

I have applied for cpp-D as requested by my insurer… must I apply for the foreign country one and give that up to my insurer?

CPPD itself actually asked me for information about any other country’s benefits that I might be entitled to so I am guessing yes.
