Calculate WCB disability benefit entitlement amounts - when new unionized contract has been settled determining higher wage since injury?

I am a BC Teacher who has an accepted injury claim Jan 2022. WCB is currently in the process of determining a permanent partial injury settlement. The calculation is done two ways: 1) loss of function; 2) loss of future earnings. My issue is as of July 1, 2022, teachers negotiated a new three year employment contract. This ended June 30, 2025. My wage rate for the duration of the claim was set based on the earning 12 months prior to the injury (Salary for 2021). My wage in the new contract is substantially higher than the old contract. How can I get WCB to consider my new wage rate that I should have been earning when calculating my permanent injury? . A difference of $13, 122.94

You would just need to ask them to use the new salary information. Get them to give a written decision. Then you can appeal the decision if you disagree with it and think the new salary information should apply. I am not familiar with BC’s WCB policies but they should set out what happens in this type of situation.
