1 year from change of definition

Should I be overly alarmed at about 1 year away from change of definition for long-term disability that they suddenly want to do a medical review? My doctor’s notes have been very contemporous and I have a very high level of support spanning decades for my condition and I presently have CPPD submitted for review

I also got a new case manager for my LTD claim so I’m just wondering if I should be overly alarmed at this point

I already have lawyers chosen if I need to retain. Thanks!

By medical review do you mean reviewing your medical information? Or are they requesting an independent medical examination, doing a third party review, something else.

It’s likely just a change in staff and the new person wanting to square things away. It’s probably impossible to not worry about it but it’s not something to worry about. Most case managers request fairly frequent medical updates at first.

If it’s an internal medical review with updated info from your doctor, and doesn’t require you to attend a private examination then this is normal. It is what happened in my claim and many others I know.
