Short term disability

Does employer as right to terminate employee in case short term disability is not approved.

I’m not a lawyer but probably not.

If your short term is denied-you can try to apply for EI sickness and also appeal with your Insurer

With very few exceptions, an employer can terminate an employee’s employment at any time. The only requirement is that the employer must give reasonable notice in advance of termination or pay severance in place of giving working notice. The only exceptions here is that an employer can not terminate employment for an improper purpose like discrimination – but other than that, employers can terminate employees as long as they give notice.

So, an employer can choose to terminate you at any time unless you can show it is being done for a discriminatory purpose or you are protected by a union collective agreement.
