Self employed income vs CPPD

Hello, I am looking for some clarification

  1. is self employed income treated the same as other employment income under CPPD?
  2. what is a current limit in regards to allowable earnings before CPPD will be cut ?
    Thank you

Reduced but not cut off I think.

Just got a letter that it’s $5700 for 2019.

Self employment income is net income after expenses, but you should still report it if your gross self employment revenue passes $5500 (as of 2019). This amount goes up slightly each year.

It is also important to note that CPP’s assessment of self employment income is not only income focused. For example, it is possible to have CPP benefits suspended if your are doing a significant amount of self-employment work, even if you aren’t making money.
