Asked insurance company a copy of my file, takes up to a month to receive it

I was denied short term disability and asked my Sunlife disability case manager for a copy of my file and said If you would like to request a copy of your file you need to fax us the request in writing, the file would then be sent to you in the mail. Please note this process can take up to 30 days.
This seems like a long process just for my file, does anyone know if this is true…waiting up to a month for my file.

Sounds like a long time.
I would get the free consult and ask them.

Yes,I’m going to do that

This is a normal process and a 30-day turn-around time is reasonable for the industry.

If that includes time to mail it and be received then I think 30 days is reasonable.
If mailing time is on top of that then the definition of reasonable is wrong IMO.

The case manager told me to send it by fax.
