My employer has terminated my employment due to “frustration” of employment. They are giving me a severance amount. How does this affect my LTD or CPPD? I know I am still being paid by LTD as I just had a review and they said they will follow up in October 2026.
I would ask the insurance company and inform Service Canada (CPPD).
I was told it didn’t affect either BUT it may depend on the insurance contract.
It won’t affect CPPD but I would inform them so they don’t get surprised by the “income”.
They asked me to mail in the documents about my severance.
They never did answer the mail but it wasn’t a problem.
I would phone and see what they say.
Maybe the advice from them now would be more useful.
