LTD overpayment debt

After I have been to hell and back for 6 years, allthe way to Supreme Court, WCAT 3 times, 2 hard core LTD assesments and TOTALLY disabled, living in a fixer upper without heat, on mortgage payments, I got paid back big $$$. I have to give it all back, according to BCNU, preferably in full.
Because of my living situation, the money is being invested in making my life liveable.
Who can help me negotiate with GWL, so it is affordable for me? BCNU offers to help, but did not agree with the amount I proposed, and suggested I deal with GWL myself.

I think you need to get the free consult from Resolute so you can explain the details of your situation.
@David_Brannen

Good luck.

I spoke to GWL representative this morning and he proposed 50,000 now and 2000 per mo till paid off.
He sent it to HBT for approval. It is the maximum I can do, judging by how much my mortgage is and the work needed to make the house liveable.
If HBT does not agree with this proposal, I will contact the lawyer.
I am worried that if WSBC stops my claim for any reason, I will have no money to live on. I am trying to get rid of my mortgage to be safe.
My CPP is 1130 and that is less than my mortgage. LTD took 10 mo to start paying when I got injured and kicked off from WSBC.

I am currently going after my insurance through the Human Rights Commission and strongly advise others to consider this an option if your Insurer is harassing you which attending phsysians may consider it to debilating to your health. In this age bullying and harassment they CANNOT persistently pursue this type of behaviour without being held accountable .

David did not get back to me :unamused:

Hi,
I would phone them.

I am grateful to find your post! I contacted the Human Rights Commission today and they agreed that I have grounds for discrimination under 4 protected human rights! I am 2 weeks away from the turnover from STD with employer to LTD with insurer. Basically when a person is protected under the human rights, employment, and information privacy laws once they are switched over to an insurer those rights and protections no longer exist. As the people on this website already know, insurance laws strip humans from their rights as humans …seriously true!

How has this worked out for you? Any resolution?

No resolution. Asked BCNU for help because HBT refused my offers in negotiation. I am being officially sued. I was served court papers on Sunday. Dont know what to do, looking for a lawyer that wd defend my position. The company claims to be there for the employees, to help them achieve wellness, while they scrutinized me for the first 10 months after my injury, contributing to irreversible damage. I need help :disappointed:

I don’t know if this will help you. Slavery is still legal in Canada. Canadians never outlawed it. This explains why the Federal Government gave the insurance companies all the power they asked for.

So why don’t you hire a lawyer? There should be free legal clinics for people with disabilities.
