Has anyone had success requesting a LTD buyout from their insurer? If so, how did you go about doing it and what did you use for an excuse?
From the insurers perspective, what would be a good excuse to ask for a buyout that wouldn’t raise red flags?

I’d love to know the answer to this as well. The insurer wouldn’t buyout a claim unless it saved them significant money. The insurer may also think you want a buyout because they think you are better and want the buyout so you can work.
I think asking for a buyout raises red flags.
If you been cut off then your lawyer could ask for a buyout as part of a settlement.
I don’t think you’ll get much.
