Hi everyone: Does anyone know if the $200.00 extra disability payment will be taken from long term disability through Manulife? Has it gone through government so it won’t be deducted? I had to do an update on my medical forms for manulife and claimed my payments. Just want to know so it won’t be a surprise if they take it off my payments. They will take the whole amount at once.

The insurers promised the government that they wouldn’t take it, so no rules were put in place, but that promise isn’t legally binding. In my view the government really dropped the ball here.

I don’t think there will be a clawback. Do they clawback your CPP-D annual increases? No. With that said, we have the same insurance company and my paperwork will be coming up due in a few months so please keep us posted.
