Hi everyone, I know you can make $6500 per year when receiving CPPD.
Does this apply if you are receiving benefits for long duration from an insurance co? The cost of living is so high, it’s been difficult.
Thanks

You would have to check your insurance policy but under mine I would have to pay everything to the LTD company as an offset. Except it’s worse than that, because I would also have to pay the taxes and payroll deductions.
Thanks for the reply. I will definitely check. I’m just curious as to others experience.
Would you have to pay back everything you’ve received?
I would ask the insurance if doing X is an offset.
If doing X is an offset and you’ve done it then I think you should tell the insurance company right away (contact Resolute first).
Is X a job job or just rental income (passive income).
I’d contact Resolute if you think there is a potential problem.
My LTD company is entitled to everything I make from earned income and from CPPD. I do have an obligation to tell them about any earned income. If I didn’t then yes I would have to pay it to them later, and it would also put my future LTD payments at risk. Can you look around for any extra non-income support for disabled people? Things like subsidized housing, food banks, free meals from Sikh temples, Telus internet for good for low cost internet for people on CPPD. I even met one lady who got a free room in a house just for agreeing to be home each night to telephone for help if the wheelchair user she lived with fell out of bed or the chair.
