Iv currently been of work for a year and have participated in rehabilitation program and have recently been given a rtw date that I don’t agree with as my symptoms are still there my insurance company is just going off of what the occupational therapist is saying. I’ve been told that if I don’t participate in the rtw plan that my benefits will be terminated .. my doctor has yet to clear me even through she hasn’t been much help and usually sides with the insurer I’ve been off due to anxiety and depression and having to deal with this is making it extremely difficult. I’m at the point of I don’t know what to do
Wondering if you’re in the same program as me. My rtw date was chosen before I even started the program, so I was always set up to fail.

If it’s YOUR medical team’s opinion you are not able to return work, have them write a letter stating that and why. Send it to your insurer ASAP.

I have a doctors appointment today I heard from my employer yesterday stating Canada life wasn’t going to change their mind I simply asked them to hold my rtw until my medical doctor cleared me I’ve tried to contact Canada life but they are not reaponding
Canada life told me today that my doctor doesn’t overrule them
Canada Life is wrong to say that according to most litigation cases within the common law.
That’s what I thought and I returned to my doctor today and she in fact said I am not to return to work
