agrees to make such weekly payments for the duration of such inability to perform the essential duties?

Mine says:

> Long-Term Disability coverage will end on the day you reach age 65
> less the elimination period of 119 days or the day you retire, whichever
> is earlier.

There is usually “own occupation” for 2 years and then “any occupation” (until 65 or a specific term).
It depends on the policy.

Every disability policy sets out a “benefit period”. This is the maximum period benefits can be paid under the policy, assuming the claim is approved. A common benefit period is “to age 65”, but the benefit period can also be stated as a number of years 2, 5, 10, etc.

The statement highlighted above simply means they will pay benefits as long as “they” determine you meet the definition of total disability under the policy…or reach the end of your max benefit period.
