Anyone renewed a mortgage yet while on LTD? Do they consider a gross-up of tax free payments to the equivalent taxable income? How does the new stress test deal with LTD payments?

I’m not sure but would be very interested in this too.
Or if you are applying for a HELOC would they count any of your LTD income?

I was thinking of something similar last night.
My income from the CRA assessment is just CPP-D.
In a mortgage point a higher income is desirable.
I would think proving your other income (LTD statement) would be enough.

@David_Brannen
If there is a low-income program that is means tested, do they just go by the CRA assessment?

Most mortgages do not have you requalify. You simply get the renewal and pick your options. Only if you are trying to borrow more or switch banks will you need to meet the stress test.

So if you plan to just renew…you just sign the papers or log into your online banking and accept1

I tried to get a new mortgage and the bank wanted letters from LTD and CPP-D stating my income. I decided not to pursue this.

Any concern with getting that letter? Does Insurer provide such letters? Why did not you pursue this? Any peculiar reason that i may not be aware of.

I was given a letter from LTD and used my bank statement + T4 to prove the CPPD.

My employer refused to give me a letter. At that time I was still considered an employee.
